In this talk, we will first introduce the mean curvature flow then discuss examples with some interesting behavior under the flow. From these examples, we will construct a new self-translating surface for the mean curvature flow. We are mainly interested in embedded surfaces. The proof uses techniques from differential geometry and functional analysis.
