Testing and
Grading:
The first of two uniform one-hour examinations will be given on
Monday, October 23, from
5:00-6:00 in Room 525 of the Old Chemistry Building.
The second of two uniform one-hour examinations will be given on
Monday, November 13, from
5:00-6:00 in Room 525 of the Old Chemistry Building.
The two-hour final examination will also be a uniform test for all four sections of 15-MATH-260. It is now scheduled for Monday, December 4 at 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. in Room 525 of the Old Chemistry Building. For each of the uniform examinations, computers are not permitted.
In addition to the four hours of examinations just mentioned, there will be five short examinations of about 10 to 15 minutes given in our classroom during ordinary class hours. Suitable days for these are:
1. Friday, October 13,
2. Friday, October 27,
3. Friday, November 3,
4. Friday, November 17,
5. Wednesday, November 22.
For these short examinations, notebook paper should suffice. Each will be graded on a basis of 20 points so that the five short examinations can be collectively weighted as a one-hour examination. Thus, on a basis of five hours of testing, each one-hour examination will count as 1/5 of the grade and the two-hour final will be weighted as 2/5 of the final grade.
Withdrawal Policy: A withdrawal with passing status (W) will be permitted up through Thursday, November 16. After that date, withdrawal slips can not be processed.
