Sequential experiments

Often the main experiment consist of a sequence of sub-experiments, each depending on the outcome of the previous one. If n such sub-experiments are chained, then the full experiment results in a chain of events, or a path tex2html_wrap_inline1449 . If we assume that k-th experiment depends on the outcome of the k-1-th experiment only, then tex2html_wrap_inline1455 .

Denoting by tex2html_wrap_inline1457 the generic path tex2html_wrap_inline1459 , and by tex2html_wrap_inline1461 we have the following path integral formula for the probability of an event tex2html_wrap_inline1463 specifying the outcome of the complete experiment, and consisting of many paths tex2html_wrap_inline1465 .
