elcome to the Statistical Consulting Laboratory (SCL), at the Department of Mathematical Sciences, University of Cincinnati. The Statistical Consulting Laboratory (SCL) is an educational and service unit in the Department of Mathematical Sciences. Our members are faculty, Research Assistants and graduate students from Statistics. We provide advice, project management, data management and statistical analysis for the university and private research community.

The Department offers the consulting service as part of a course for graduate students. The course continues throughout the year and the instructors will be Dr. Deddens. We welcome enquiries from potential users on or off campus, though preference is given to those on campus. Professors, research staff and postdocs are welcome to contact us directly; graduate students working on PhD projects are also welcome but should first obtain the approval of their advisors.

SCL have a wide range of expertise in social sciences and also in the use of packages such as SAS, SPSS and S-PLUS. SCL also offer a service to help with statistical packages. In general, we don't try to offer help in the use of packages --- our expertise is more in the formulation of research problems in statistical terms, or in problems that cannot be fitted within a standard package.

We are located in 512 Old Chemistry, west campus of the university. To contact the consulting lab: by far the best way is to send an email message or fill and submit the on-line application form . You will normally get a reply within 2 working days.
