Taft Research Seminar
The Department of Mathematical Sciences and the Charles Phelps Taft Research Center have collaborated to create an exciting year of mini-courses, colloquia, and seminars in the area of Geometric Analysis and includes a list of international participants.

Another unique collaboration for the Autumn Quarter includes an interdisciplinary seminar series on the Mathematical Modeling of Biofilms with visiting scholar Nick Cogan from Florida State University.

The Department of Mathematical Sciences now offers a number of exciting opportunities for students who wish to complete both the BA in Mathematical Sciences and the MS
in either Mathematical Sciences or Applied Statistics in a
five-year period.

Looking for a job?...
The Wall Street Journal recently rated the top three occupations to be Mathematician, Actuary, and Statistician, all jobs that begin with a degree in Mathematical Sciences .

New Undergraduate Program in Actuarial Sciences
The Math Department now offers a track in Actuarial Sciences at the undergraduate level.

New MS program in Financial Mathematics

The Department now offers a track in financial mathematics at the Master's level.

Research Experience for Undergraduates
The first year of the Research Experience for Undergraduates in Mathematical Cryptography, offered jointly by the University of Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky University, continues to be a great success. Applications will soon be open for the program next summer.
